There is perhaps no other bee hive product who's harvesting methods and devices are so secretly kept from a novice than bee venom. Even though the literature of venom collection is growing rapidly, the utilization and availability of collector devices is limited to a few suppliers or not available at all.

In the past nineteen years we have built several types of collector devices to obtain insect venom (bees, wasps, hornets and ants), and in the last fifteen years we have made them available to venom collectors. In practice, we use a 4th. Generation, microprocessor (computer) controlled collector device to collect bee venom for our own products. Other devices we have, and used before 2002 include number of 3rd. Generation devices capable of collecting bee venom from 10, 20, 40 or even 100 hives at a time. Twelve years ago, to meet researcher's and beginner venom collector's demands we developed two types of easy-to-use collector devices. These devices were successfully distributed to over seven dozen customers in five continents. They are well tested and can survive almost any abuse visited on them by an inexperienced venom collector. The latest one in our product line is the VC-101. We designed it for researcher's and homeopathic Apium virus manufacturer's.

But there's more.... You are rushed to apply for a grant to conduct a study or design a research project on insect venom collection... or study stinging behavior of a particular insect... or select Africanized Honey Bees based on their aggressiveness.... however... you are unable to find a venom collector device to meet the requirements of your study. Solution... we have expanded our service and can custom design and build a collector device to meet your needs. You provide the technical parameters and we will build it for you. If on the other hand, our time tested collector device is what you need, your satisfaction is but an order away.

These venom collector devices use electrical impulses to stimulate honey bees to sting a collector sheet. The venom is than gathered from the sheet and stored for further use. Devices are best utilized by beekeepers, beekeeper training schools, venom collectors and researchers who would like to collect venom for individual, research or pharmaceutical use. They are easy to assemble and simple to operate. Lately, to meet semi-commercial venom collector's demands we developed three types of collector devices the VC-6F, VC-12F and a more advanced one the VC-12FX.

These collector devices are bee safe. A well-adjusted Impulse Generator cannot harm more than 5-15 bees per collection. In practice, this number averaged 6.8 bees per hive within a 30-40 minutes collection time under maximized venom collection conditions.

Apitronic Services takes pride in announcing the introduction of the first microprocessor (computer) controlled 4th. Generation bee venom collector device. Developed over 14 years, it has been field tested for the last two. Beginning in 2002, all bee venom for the VeneX® product line will be collected with this new, state of the art device. It was developed solely for our own use and is expected to improve the quality of our products.
